Plasma-Resistant Communication Waveform

Plasma-Resistant Communication Waveform

October 2024. EMAG Technologies Inc. successfully tests and verifies its new software-defined radio (SDR) customized for hypersonic data communications. The new SDR, which was developed under the funding from the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA), features a novel hardened waveform that mitigates RF blackout effects in harsh plasma environments.
EMAG’s new SDR is currently being integrated with its latest active electronically scanned array (AESA) and up/down-converter (UDC) architectures to provide flexible on-the-fly digital beam steering and beam shaping capabilities. The fully integrated compact communication system will be mechanically packaged and equipped with a state-of-the-art ultra-high-temperature ceramic (UHTC) radome and thermal protection system (TPC).
