September 2024. EMAG Technologies Inc. successfully tests its new 10 kW plasma environment generator. The new chamber can reach very low vacuum levels and produce a plasma environment with very high electron density levels typically associated with hypersonic vehicles flying at high Mach velocities.
The new plasma chamber was tested with both air and Argon gases at different power levels. A very large chiller system provides efficient liquid cooling for the 27 MHz RF generator as well as the giant magnetic coil enveloping the quartz chamber. The new system will enable EMAG to conduct a host of new RF transmission and antenna loading experiments at very high plasma intensity levels. EMAG also recently upgraded its Langmuir probe system for characterization of such high plasma intensities.
