Job Description

EMAG Technologies Inc., a high-tech company specializing in integrated RF front end solutions, located in Ann Arbor, MI, is looking for a dynamic IT Manager with additional responsibilities including software product management and development of web-based software distribution infrastructure. The successful candidates will be a part of a high energy team of engineers working in the areas of RF and microwave circuits and antennas for communications and radar applications. This is a full-time position with full benefits, available immediately.

Job Description

This position involves IT, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, Software Product Management, and Web-based Infrastructure Design and Development:

IT Tech/ Network Administrator/Manager Responsibilities

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, peripherals
  • Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components (servers, routers, firewalls, IPs etc.)
  • Manage security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection from attacks
  • Maintaining and updating System Security Plan to meet Cyber Security requirements
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems, peripheral devices and networks
  • Monitoring and maintaining firewall
  • Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
  • Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated
  • Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
  • Providing technical support across the company
  • Setting up accounts for new users
  • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
  • Testing new technologies and scaling up company’s IT when necessary
  • Keeping records of repairs and fixes for future reference

Requirements

  • Experience with LAN/WAN networks
  • Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Good knowledge of Windows and Linux systems
  • Knowledge and experience of Fortinet firewall or similar systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Very good communication abilities
  • Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field

Software Product Management and Web-Based Infrastructure Development Responsibilities

  • Expert knowledge of revision control systems like GIT
  • Familiarity with basics of software quality assurance
  • Familiarity with code documentation and organization tools like Doxygen or alike
  • Familiarity with bug tracking systems and technical support methodologies
  • Familiarity with software product licensing schemes including license servers
  • Familiarity with web-based automation of software evaluation, licensing and distribution  
  • Website and software application esigning, building, or maintaining
  • Using scripting or authoring languages and management tools
  • Identifying problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing and correcting or referring problems to appropriate personnel for correction
  • Evaluating code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems
  • Determining user needs by analyzing technical requirements

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of C++ and Python
  • Solid Knowledge and experience with Web Applications and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and API’s
  • Knowledge of WordPress
  • Proficient in My SQL or other database technologies
  • Ability to solve complex problems
