Electronic Engineering Technician

EMAG Technologies Inc. is looking for an Electronic Engineering Technician to support the growth of the business. We are a high-tech company based in Ann Arbor, MI, that develops radio-frequency system modules and infrastructure for communication, radar, and sensing applications. The successful candidate will be a part of a vibrant team of engineers working in the areas of design, development and characterization of RF and microwave circuits and antennas. This is a full-time salaried position with comprehensive health benefits and a 401K option.

Job Description

This position involves fabrication, assembly, and test of electronic components. Specifically, it involves:
  • Programming and operation of surface mount pick-and-place machinery
  • Hand soldering, building cables and wire harnesses, and box building
  • Conducting test and inspection of electronic hardware according to written test procedures

Position Requirements

  • Associates degree in Electronics Technology or 3+ years of highly relevant experience
  • Experience with PCB assembly, including automated pick-and-place and hand soldering
  • Familiar with basic electronics lab equipment, including bench supplies, multimeter, oscilloscope, etc
  • Experience with hand assembly of cables, wire harnesses, and electronics boxes
  • Experience following written test procedures and documenting test results
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly work environment

Highly Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with PCB layout
  • Experience in analog design, such as basic power supplies, and digital design, including experience with microcontrollers and embedded code
  • Experience with mechanical prototyping, including with a 3D printer and CNC router
  • Basic knowledge of RF systems, such as for radar and communications
  • Willingness to learn all of the above
