Electronic Engineering Technician
EMAG Technologies Inc. is looking for an Electronic Engineering Technician to support the growth of the business. We are a high-tech company based in Ann Arbor, MI, that develops radio-frequency system modules and infrastructure for communication, radar, and sensing applications. The successful candidate will be a part of a vibrant team of engineers working in the areas of design, development and characterization of RF and microwave circuits and antennas. This is a full-time salaried position with comprehensive health benefits and a 401K option.
Job Description
This position involves fabrication, assembly, and test of electronic components. Specifically, it involves:
- Programming and operation of surface mount pick-and-place machinery
- Hand soldering, building cables and wire harnesses, and box building
- Conducting test and inspection of electronic hardware according to written test procedures
Position Requirements
- Associates degree in Electronics Technology or 3+ years of highly relevant experience
- Experience with PCB assembly, including automated pick-and-place and hand soldering
- Familiar with basic electronics lab equipment, including bench supplies, multimeter, oscilloscope, etc
- Experience with hand assembly of cables, wire harnesses, and electronics boxes
- Experience following written test procedures and documenting test results
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly work environment
Highly Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with PCB layout
- Experience in analog design, such as basic power supplies, and digital design, including experience with microcontrollers and embedded code
- Experience with mechanical prototyping, including with a 3D printer and CNC router
- Basic knowledge of RF systems, such as for radar and communications
- Willingness to learn all of the above
